Asset-ID: A-159

Form-factor: Sapient

Threat Level: Green

Active Protocols: A-159 is to be kept at Site-002 on a mannequin display head in a 1.7 meter by 1.7 meter glass hermetically sealed case at all times. Any instance of A-159-1 must be neutralized on sight. A D-Class wearing chemical protective clothing (revised as of 12/1/1939) a Hazardous Materials suit is to retrieve and re-contain A-159 after A-159-1 is neutralized. If A-159 is not able to be removed from the head of a deceased A-159-1, it is to be removed from the host's head using a surgical scalpel surgical-grade laser.

Description: A-159 appears to be a German Lederschutzmaske GM17 gas mask, however MRI scanning has shown that A-159 is a biological entity1. A-159 has fused with an otherwise non-anomalous M16 Stahlhelm, and it is widely assumed that A-159 did so to protect itself and its hosts. A-159 only requires sustenance when a host is present. A-159 is able to keep its host alive, despite the lack of esophagus, through unknown means. it is hypothesized that A-159 uses the extra energy from its gained sustenance to preform this task. If the host's body is rendered inoperable, A-159 will remove itself in most cases. With a host, A-159 is capable of movement and speech.

A-159's anomalous properties manifest when worn. A-159 will immediately attach itself to the host's head. From this point, the host is to be referred to as A-159-1. A-159-1's fingers develop into sharp, claw-like appendages over the course of 5 minutes. after this, A-159-1 will create a major laceration on its neck, and then remove its esophagus. A-159-1's stomach acid forms a caustic gas, designated A-159-2. A-159-1 instances display extreme violence towards humans, but will attack most life forms. When attacking, A-159-1 will release A-159-2, which will usually dissolve the life form within 1 minute. This process is extremely painful. During this process, A-159-1 instances tend to use their claw-like appendages to lacerate their prey, speeding up the effect of the gas exponentially. A-159-1 will then pour the liquid caused from this process into its neck laceration, which appears to act as a mouth.

A-159-2 has a notable dark green color, but is otherwise undetectable. If kept at a temperature below -1 degree Celsius, A-159-2 will liquefy into what appears to be hydrochloric acid, however pH readings are unobtainable. it is theorized that A-159-2 has a pH of 0, making It the most acidic substance known. A-159-2 does not seem to spread through the air, rather staying in small, dense, clouds.

Addendum-159-A—Discovery: A-159 was discovered on █/█/1917, when British soldiers outside of █████, Belgium reported seeing "A creature in German uniform attacking both sides." The message was supposed to be sent to British high command, but was intercepted by Initiative agents operating within the British armed forces. The IAF Tango-02 "Tommies"2 were dispatched to the area. On ██/█/1917, IAF Tango-02 arrived at the battlefield. No trace of soldiers from either side, barring badly damaged helmets and uniforms were sighted. A-159-1's original instance sighted and attacked one member of IAF Tango-02. after doing so, it was quickly neutralized via rifle fire. A-159 was then recovered from the corpse of the A-159-1. Both A-159 and the corpse of the deceased A-159-1 instance were sent to Site-002 for study. After it was determined that A-159 was the cause of the mutations present in A-159-1, it was placed in containment.
